The Training & Competence team within Smart Infrastructure are part of our People & Organisation (P&O) function and are a strategic partner to our businesses, guiding them to succeed with trained, competent, engaged, talented and responsible employees. This team specialises in both Early Careers Professional deployment and development and the learning and development of our existing staff across the Division.
As a Training & Competence Intern, here is a taste of what you can expect:
- Actively support the rollout of a new roles and skills based competence initiative across Smart Infrastructure.
- Identify and create tailored learning plans for all of our roles to support the skills required for our people to be successful in those roles.
- Linked to the skills and roles project, you will also be involved in a new strategic workforce planning project.
- Help drive varied and interesting projects tackling key issues that affect our people, including the roll out of new processes and initiatives.
- Collaborate with P&O colleagues to support the business through change and help to shape the future of work.
- Act as an ambassador for the P&O team while you network with a wide variety of colleagues at all levels of the organisation.
- You’ll also have the flexibility throughout the internship to focus on topics and projects which most interest you.
- Work in our UK Intern Collaboration Project with all of our interns to help shape our future with tangible outcomes based on your valuable inputs and perspectives.
What do I need to apply?
We are looking for forward thinking, innovative and inquisitive candidates that demonstrate the following:
- You must be working towards a degree in a people or business oriented subject
- You have a demonstrable interest in a career in Training & Competence or HR and enthusiasm in the role that data can play in our future success.
- You think logically and are willing to self-learn and research.
- Bring new thinking, challenges the status quo and take initiative.
